For 23 years, customers of Tanorama at 1025 Main St. (Route 18) in Weymouth have come to owner Brian Parrelli to darken their skin. Now he’s giving them the opportunity to whiten their teeth while they’re at it.
Last month, Parrelli sold one of his tanning machines to make way for a ‘‘Beyond White Spa’’ brand teeth-whitening system.
‘‘This is huge for me,-’’ he said. ‘‘That’s a lot for me because I had no idea if this was going to make a dollar.’’
So far the system, which employs a 6-percent hydrogen-peroxide gel and a blue-light ‘‘whitening-accelerator’’ lamp, has attracted about 30 customers, Parrelli said. But he said he expects the service to expand once the word gets out.
